John Wolferth

C H E F

I am a classically trained chef, experienced in French, Italian, Continental, Mediterranean, American Regional, and Asian influenced cuisines, in addition to my own food style. I have helped to conceptualize, and open, a number of original restaurants, as well as having been involved in helping existing concepts to be more competitive and functional. I have worked as an Executive Chef, an ownership partner, a consultant, and have had three of my own businesses which I operated personally. My background consists of over twenty years experience, a degree from The Culinary Institute of America, and a well rounded knowledge of food and beverage management in the restaurant and hotel industries. I am a very detailed, hands-on, “old school” work ethic type of person. I enjoy training personnel, and working with industry professionals, and always look for new avenues and challenges. In addition to the kitchen, I have “front of house” management experience, P&L, liquor and wine, POS knowledge, and of course inventory, scheduling, and cost control experience. I have appeared a number of times on radio, and television in Philadelphia, as well as having been quoted discussing food, and have written articles in local magazines. I have recently been chosen as a "Best Chefs America" award recipient for 2013 and 2014. I also currently work as a Food Stylist for QVC and as a restaurant consultant.
